Choose from a variety of industry associations and their mailing lists that focus on subjects such as International Software Development, Multilingual Testing, Multiplatform Localization, including Java and Web content. Many interest groups such as the Bay Area Computer Human Interaction (BayCHI), the Intl Macintosh Users Group (IMUG), the Bay Area Forum For Women Entrepreneurs (FWE), SDForum, the Silicon Valley Association of Software Entrepreneurs (SVASE) and the Vietnamese Silicon Valley Network (VSVN) are located in Silicon Valley, California, others such as IWIPS have headquarters outside the USA. TGP Consulting is associated with many of these industry organizations that have often hosted TGP presentations.

Bay Area Computer Human Interaction (BayCHI)

BayCHI, the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of ACM's Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction, brings together systems designers, human factors engineers, computer scientists, psychologists, social scientists, and users from throughout the Bay Area to hear and to exchange ideas about computer-human interaction and about the design and evaluation of user interfaces. Bay Area Forum For Women Entrepreneurs (FWE)

FWE's mission is to accelerate women's opportunities to start, manage and invest in market-leading companies. FWE offers innovative programs, access to top-tier funding sources and a collaborative online community that accelerates women entrepreneurs' ability to launch and build world-class companies. Headquartered in Silicon Valley California, it now has several chapters in other geographies.

Commercial Service, Department of Commerce (DOC)

A network of over 190 offices worldwide, including commercial sections in US Embassies and Consulates, US Trade Centers, and US Export Assistance Centers. There is a DOC Commercial Service Branch office in San Francisco and the Santa Clara (CA) District office. DOC services include: collecting Int'l marketing research data, different business practices data, legal requirements data, shipping and custom issues information, payment issues and business disputes resolution counseling. Market research tools include: National Trade Data Bank (NTDB) on CD-ROM, and Customized Market Analysis (CMA) costing from US$800 to $3,000. Promotional tools include: Commercial News USA (CNUSA), Agent Distributor Service (ADS), Gold Key Service (GKS), and Int'l Company Profile (ICP). DBF, La French Connection de la Silicon Valley

Association of French-speaking Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, developers and executives. It holds monthly meetings at Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley, 1001 Marshall Street, Redwood City, (CA) on the first Monday of each month.

International Macintosh User Group (IMUG)

IMUG is a group of users and designers of multilingual computer systems, located in Silicon Valley. IMUG started as a Macintosh user group, but it has extended its focus to multilingual solutions on other platforms, such as Windows and Unix. IMUG holds monthly meetings at Apple Computer, R&D Campus, 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, (CA) on the third Thursday of each month. IMUG publishes a monthly newsletter. TGP is a member of IMUG and has a link in their website.

International Webmasters Association (IWA)

Language Centre Professional organization for Webmasters. It works in conjunction with the W3C, major corporations (Microsoft, Netscape, Earthlink, to name just a few), and professional Webmasters. IWA Language Centre focuses on making the Internet truly global, a concept that will be made much easier once HTML 4.0 is finalized with W3C's adoption of the Unicode 2.0 standard.

IWIPS

IWIPS 2003: the 5th International Workshop on Internationalisation of Products and Systems. IWIPS 2003 will take place in the City of Berlin on July 17-19, 2003.
